GECA is finally returning to live theater! We here at the Greater Escambia Council for the Arts are proud to announce the upcoming 2021/2022 season. After being closed for a year due to Coronavirus lockdowns, we are determined to return stronger than ever. Being more community focused than ever before, we are bringing a schedule that is exciting to the Escambia County area.

Starting this spring with The Beverly Hillbillies as directed by our very own Jerry Janes. The big return of the summer musical will be The Sound of Music directed by Phil Johnson. The adaptation of the classic book by Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird will be presented in the Fall by Phil Johnson and Sharon Poulsen. Starting off the 2022 year will by The Jungle Book, the children's show for the season directed by Ellen Johnson and Andrew Willis. Finally, finishing off the season in the spring of 2022, is Neil Simon's Fools directed by Phil Johnson and Ellen Johnson. We are excited to return to normal operations and continue giving back to our community.

We are very fortunate to be one of the few community theaters in the country that survived the lockdowns. We are going to take that good fortune and give back to the community that has supported us through the past 20 years of operation. Make sure to come out and enjoy these fun productions, and stay tuned for updates about auditions and show dates!

We here at GECA pride ourselves with bringing the community quality performances while providing a family friendly atmosphere. The Greater Escambia Council of the Arts is an all volunteer company which allows us to keep our ticket prices affordable. We invite everyone to become a part of the show. You can participate on stage or behind. We look forward to seeing you at one of our shows!
